Tour Highlights

Combine a week at the beautiful flat water lagoon of Langebaan (one of the best wind sport locations on the Planet), including a taster game drive, with a few days in and around Cape Town, finishing off with a relaxing couple of days in the Winelands. Sound good?

Days 1 - 7

4* Windtown Lagoon Hotel

100km North of Cape Town (90 mins transfer from the airport), on South Africa's West Coast, lies the kitesurfing, windsurfing and wing foiling haven of Langebaan Lagoon. This quaint little seaside town offers great flat water conditions on a stunning blue lagoon with consistent winds from November to March (the SA summer). Ideal for beginners or those wishing to improve their skills, the Langebaan Lagoon is one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world set in the West Coast nature reserve.

During one afternoon we will include a 3-hour game drive in the nearby safari park, just a 30-minute drive away. This friendly family-owned reserve is home to 4 of the Big 5 (Lion, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard), Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra, Kudu, Eland, Oryx, Blue Wildebeest, Mountain Reedbuck, Red Hartebeest and much more.

Langebaan

Langebaan is an idyllic little seaside town on the South African West Coast. It is located at the edge of the tranquil Langebaan lagoon, 100km north of Cape Town. Founded in 1922, this historical town was once a whaling station and it has now been transformed into a holiday destination on the West Coast. It is a mecca for nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts. The lagoon is part of a protected area, the West Coast National Park - a world-renowned birding spot with migratory birds from as far as Russia stopping here annually.

The jewel of the West Coast towns, Langebaan will leave you with memories of a startling blue sea, acres of spring flowers and the enticing smell of fish ‘braais’ (barbeques). Sunsets on the west-facing coast are legendary and you’ll experience plenty of enchanting moments. We are sure you will return again and again to this tranquil, magnificently beautiful place.

During the South African summer months, from November to April Langebaan is on the most wind sure location on the Planet. The climate at this time of year is perfect with temperatures in the high 20s. The lagoon offers a huge flat water area, with many shallow sections, making this an ideal beginner or improver destination. Most of the Lagoon is surrounded by a nature reserve making for stunning views from the water back across the surrounding area.

Other compelling reasons to consider a holiday to Langebaan is the amazing and very cheap eating out, the world-class service (and always with a genuine smile), the huge range of off-water activities, and incredible value for money we enjoy with the relatively strong Pound.

It is best to have a car in Langebaan so as part of your holiday quote we would normally include this. There are also lots of add-on options for a holiday to Langebaan to include extra nights in Cape Town, wildlife safaris or even combine your stay in South Africa with a visit to Mauritius! Please call and speak to an expert advisor so we can put together the right trip for your budget, duration and specific requirements.

Days 8 - 11

5* Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel

Head back to Cape Town and spend three days exploring the sights of this iconic city and surrounding Cape Peninsula. There is so much to see and do in the area. Three days barely scratches the surface, but the main trips would include a half-day city tour (by foot, bike or e-bike), climbing Table Mountain (or Cable Car up), Cape Town museum and V&A Waterfront. A must is the full-day tour to Cape Point by way of Boulders (to see the penguins), and returns via the famous Champman Peak scenic drive.

We can pre-book a full itinerary, including private guided tours. Speak to one of our South Africa experts

Cape Town

Cape Town is a kitesurfing holiday destination that ticks all the boxes. The wind conditions in and around Cape Town are very reliable with wind speeds usually between 20-30 knots with the strongest wind coming between 2 and 6 in the evenings. South Africa's best wind is present during the summer period from November through to February. The coastline in and around the Cape Town area is home to many beaches that do not only boast fantastic kitesurfing conditions, but simply breathtaking natural beauty too.

But there is more to Cape Town than just kitesurfing. Whether you are looking to unwind, explore or be entertained in your time away from the surf, Cape Town and what lies beyond has plenty of alternative activities for those rare non-windy days and for the non-surfing partners and family.

Days 12 - 14

5* Leeu Estates

The Cape Vineland’s comprises the Stellenbosch, Franschoek, and Paarl Valley, whose fertile soil is conducive to growing a mixture of grapes. Stellenbosch is renowned for its viticulture, and hundreds of world-class wine estates are strewn across the town’s outskirts. Stellenbosch is a wine and food capital, a lively university town, and a historical hub set at the foot of the Stellenbosch Mountain

While there, other than hopping between the area’s wine estates and taking in the mountainous backdrop, you can walk along the town’s oak-lined avenues, admiring the Cape Dutch architecture and stopping to sample some of the local food. Each dish helps tell the story of Stellenbosch’s colonial history, which dates back to 1679.

Stellenbosch and Franschhoek

Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are two of South Africa’s most renowned wine regions, each offering a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Stellenbosch, the country’s second-oldest town, is known for its Cape Dutch architecture, oak-lined streets, and prestigious university. It has a vibrant atmosphere with art galleries, fine dining, and world-class wineries. The town is surrounded by rolling vineyards and dramatic mountains, creating a picturesque setting that attracts both wine lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Franschhoek, meaning "French Corner," has a distinct European charm rooted in its Huguenot heritage. This small town is considered South Africa’s culinary capital, with award-winning restaurants and a strong focus on gourmet food paired with exceptional wines. The surrounding valley is breathtaking, with lush vineyards set against a backdrop of towering mountains. The Franschhoek Wine Tram is a popular attraction, offering a scenic and leisurely way to explore the region’s top wine estates.

Both Stellenbosch and Franschhoek offer a perfect mix of history, luxury, and natural splendour, making them must-visit destinations for travellers exploring the Cape Winelands.
